‘Degustazione Maremmana’ takes place at the Tenuta Casteani Winery, just a few kilometres away from Grosseto.
The experience consists of a tour of the vineyard and cellar, culminating in the tasting of 4 wines accompanied by an assortment of local products.
Only here can you find the wine that symbolises this territory: the ‘Maremmano‘, a Vermentino Superiore that fully reflects the characteristics of the place where it is produced.
Highlights of the visit (2 hours)
Welcome A TENUTA CASTEANI
We will welcome you at the cellar doors of Tenuta Casteani while waiting for the group to be full.
THE VINEYARD
We will walk together through the rows of our vineyard discovering its history and peculiarities, delving step by step into the wonderful world of wine.
THE CELLAR
The tour continues inside the winery, where we explain how our wines are made and discover the winemaking processes together.
THE BARREL CELLAR
We then move on to our barrique cellar, which houses casks, barriques and terracotta amphoras, to see the room where the wines are aged for months or years before being bottled.
Tasting of 4 wines
All that remains is to taste our 4 glasses of wine together! The tasting is accompanied by a tasty plate of typical products: cheese, Tuscan cold cuts and local delicacies.
Wine shop
At the end of the tasting we open our wine shop where you can buy the wines you liked best.
If you are unable to transport your purchases, we can send them directly to your home!

Le aspettative sono state soddisfatte alla grande. Competenza, gentilezza. Degustazione accompagnata da salumi eccellenti. Il giro tra i vigneti e le spiegazioni che ci sono state date sono state esaustive e interessanti. La degustazione accompagnata dal tagliere è stata molto gradevole, insieme alla compagnia degli altri partecipanti. Il percorso è stato eccezionale, non penso ci possa essere nessun tipo di miglioramento.
Io e il mio ragazzo siamo in vacanza in Toscana e cercando su internet abbiamo trovato questa Tenuta per fare una degustazione: siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti della nostra scelta! Siamo stati accolti e abbiamo visitato la cantina, con al lavoro i ragazzi, ed al termine degustato il vino che ci hanno presentato molto bene, facendo anche una bella chiacchierata. E' stato un momento molto piacevole che consigliamo assolutamente.
You met our expectations. Location is perfect, atmosphere was friendly. This is the first time we had something to eat during a wine tasting.
Going into the vineyard and cellar is a plus and switching from a language to another is much appreciated by my husband who only speaks French.
You can improve maybe with a small fridge to have a better temperature for some bottles.

Made from Sangiovese and Grenache grapes, vinified in white, in temperature-controlled steel tanks.

Obtained from Sangiovese grapes, fermented in steel tanks and aged in large barrels, as per Tuscan tradition!

TERRA DI CASTEANI
Riserva Doc Maremma Toscana Rosso
This is a reserve wine made from Merlot grapes.
It is fermented in steel tanks and aged in oak barriques for approximately two years.
The result is a soft, enveloping, and elegant wine, making it a great Super Tuscan of the Maremma.

How to reach us?
Finding us will be the least of your worries! You have just to google “Degustazione Maremmana”. However, in case you encounter any type of difficulty during the itinerary, you can contact +39 348 671 8546 at any time and ask for help.
To reach us, you will not have to take dirt or rough roads, but only asphalted paths, suitable for any type of vehicle.
You will not even have to worry about finding parking as right inside our cellar you will find a large graveled square, located a few meters from the entrance to the tasting room.
Useful information
- Parking: there are no space problems! You can come with your car, bus or camper and park them comfortably inside our company.
- Access and services for the disabled: from the graveled square of the car park, it is possible to access the tasting room via a ramp. Inside the structure, there are services for the disabled.
- Animals: you can bring your four-legged friends, as long as they are small and strictly kept on a leash. However, they will not be able to enter the wine-making rooms or participate in the tasting, in respect of the other participants.
- Purchase of wines: at the end of the tasting itinerary, you can buy wines directly from our warehouse. If you are unable to transport the purchased products, we will ship them directly to your home by shipping.
- Languages spoken: the visit will be carried out in Italian and English, in the presence of foreign customers.
- Children: children can participate in the visit at no additional cost.
The Estate
The Casteani Estate is a winery and agritourism company located in the area of the metalliferous hills of the upper Maremma, a few kilometers from Grosseto. Established in 2002, it has progressively expanded the vineyard area, up to the current 14 hectares, planted mainly with Sangiovese and Vermentino. You can also find international grape varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, and Viognier.
Seventy hectares of wood surround the entire estate and make it a superb natural setting, where it is easy to meet wild animals typical of these areas: wild boars, roe deer, hares, partridges, and pheasants.
Especially thanks to the guidance of Mario Pelosi, founder, and director of the entire company, excellent goals in the oenological field have been achieved over time.
The farm, which has been organic for several years, now produces several tens of thousands of bottles, which are exported all over the world.
Maremma is growing rapidly, year after year, from the point of view of wine production as well as tourism, becoming a reality of absolute interest at national and international levels.
